View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] One COVID-19 case originating from Russia has been confirmed in Gyeongnam. A man in his 30s (Mr. A), who traveled to Russia on a business trip, tested positive for the novel coronavirus on the 1st.
According to Gyeongnam Province on the 1st, Mr. A, the 319th confirmed COVID-19 case in Gyeongnam, returned from a business trip to Russia and arrived in Korea on the 30th of last month. After arrival, he took a train to Masan Station and then moved to his self-quarantine location by private car.
He underwent a COVID-19 test on the 31st of last month and received a positive result on the morning of the 1st.
Gyeongnam quarantine authorities are investigating Mr. A’s movements and whether he had any close contacts.
Meanwhile, no additional confirmed cases have been reported as of the morning of the 1st from the mass testing of residents in a village in Changwon where a couple in their 60s (Gyeongnam cases 317 and 318) tested positive the previous day.
