Yeonggwang-gun, Final Confirmation of the 60th Jeollanam-do Sports Festival in 2021
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kim Junsung) recently announced on the 26th that the period of the 60th Jeollanam-do Sports Festival has been finalized from April 27 to 30 next year through collecting opinions from the organizing committee and related institutions in preparation for the event.
The 60th Jeollanam-do Sports Festival will be held over four days from April 27 to 30 next year, with about 20,000 participants including athletes and officials from 22 cities and counties. Competitions for 22 different sports will take place at auxiliary stadiums such as Yeonggwang Sportium.
This sports festival, held again after 12 years since the 48th Jeonnam Sports Festival hosted by the county in 2009, plans to thoroughly implement quarantine and hygiene management to ensure safe operation of the games in accordance with the COVID-19 situation.
The county will strengthen quarantine and hygiene management at stadiums, lodging facilities, and restaurants, as well as safety management at the venues. It will also actively promote the event to related organizations and residents to foster public participation.
