Gokseong-gun Wins Pinnacle Award from World Festival Association
Jeonnam Province's First 'Gokseong World Rose Festival Promotional Design Category' Bronze Award
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] At the ‘14th Pinnacle Awards Korea Competition’ held on the 23rd, Gokseong-gun received the bronze award in the promotional design category, becoming the first in Jeonnam to do so.
According to Gokseong-gun on the 26th, the Pinnacle Awards are organized by the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA World), which was established in 1956. It is an organization with member countries from over 50 nations across 5 continents, boasting about 3,000 full members and 50,000 associate members worldwide.
In Korea, the Pinnacle Awards Korea Competition has been held since 2013. It contributes to accelerating the globalization of Korean festivals by discovering competitive domestic festivals.
Kim Rokgyu, head of the Culture and Sports Division of Gokseong-gun, expressed, “The Gokseong World Rose Festival receiving such a meaningful award is the result of the efforts of all staff working together to prepare the festival.”

He added, “Although the festival was inevitably canceled this year due to COVID-19, we will continue to expand differentiated festival content and develop it into a representative festival of Korea.”
