[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] U.S. President Donald Trump, who is seeking re-election, completed early voting in Florida ten days before the presidential election. Florida is one of the six battleground states in this election and holds the largest number of electoral votes, making it a crucial state that he must win to secure re-election.
According to foreign media, President Trump finished early voting on the morning of the 24th (local time) at a polling station opposite his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida. This was ten days before the November 3rd election.
After voting, President Trump reportedly told reporters, "I voted for a man named Trump."
Additionally, foreign media reported that President Trump repeated his previous claims that "(early in-person voting) is very safe voting. It is much safer than mail-in voting," suggesting that mail-in voting is more vulnerable to fraud.
Outside the polling station, hundreds of supporters were heard shouting "Four more years." President Trump wore a mask while voting but removed it when approaching reporters waiting afterward.
Earlier, the Florida area where President Trump voted early is his official residence. He moved his residence from Trump Tower in Manhattan, New York, to this location last year.
Florida, with 29 electoral votes?the most among the six battleground states in this year's election?is considered a decisive battleground that President Trump must win to succeed in his re-election bid. He held two campaign rallies here the day before.
On this day, his wife, Melania Trump, did not appear at the site. She is reported to have stayed in Washington DC.
