Taekwang Industrial Celebrates 70th Anniversary with Quiet Acts of Sharing
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Taekwang Group is conducting social contribution activities online on the 25th in celebration of its 70th anniversary.
Taekwang Industrial announced that due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), most events commemorating the 70th anniversary this year have been canceled, and they will carry out activities aligned with the group’s social contribution slogan, "Warm Light."
The Taekwang Group social contribution festival, 'Jeongdo Management Great Light Hanmadang ON,' was held online from the 19th to the 23rd. This event, held for the second time following last year, allowed free access via PC and mobile to directly experience the group and each affiliate’s social contribution activities and participate in various events. The funds raised through auctions and sales of cherished items by affiliate CEOs will be donated to the Korea Association of Child and Youth Group Homes. This event was organized to bring group executives and employees together to share affiliate social contribution activities and to foster pride and loyalty toward the group.
The parent company, Taekwang Industrial, held the 'Taekwang Industrial Together 70' event at its headquarters in Jangchung-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 23rd to mark its 70th anniversary. This event was prepared to celebrate and encourage the history of growth since its founding and to support the future leap forward.
In addition, the group has prepared various events. At the Sehwa Museum of Art, to commemorate the 70th anniversary, the exhibition 'Embroidered on Memory' using textiles has been held since September 16. This exhibition is taking place at the Sehwa Museum of Art located in the Heungkuk Life Insurance Building in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, until February 28, 2021. Due to difficulties in visiting the exhibition offline, a virtual reality (VR) exhibition viewing service is being offered free of charge.
The representative brand of art cinemas, Cinecube, will hold a premium art film festival at the end of November. This planned exhibition will run for one to two weeks around the opening anniversary on December 2, providing a special opportunity to preview artistic films scheduled for release next year. This event commemorates the group’s 70th anniversary and also marks Cinecube’s 20th anniversary this year.
