[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Five executives of Woori Bank, including the vice president, have tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Woori Bank announced on the 25th that one vice president, one assistant vice president, and three managing directors tested 'positive' for COVID-19. Among them, one was classified as a 'close contact' of a patient who tested positive on the 23rd, underwent testing, and received a positive result on the 24th. Subsequently, tests were conducted on employees who had contact with the executive at external events, resulting in four additional positive cases.
Son Tae-seung, Chairman of Woori Financial Group, and Kwon Kwang-seok, President of Woori Bank, were also tested but confirmed 'negative.'

A Woori Bank official stated, "Disinfection measures have been completed at Woori Bank headquarters and Woori Financial Digital Tower, and normal operations are scheduled to resume from the 26th. Employees who had contact with the infected executives are being encouraged to take leave and undergo COVID-19 testing."
