Busan Schools Decide on Full In-Person Classes Starting November 2
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education Targets All Kindergartens, Elementary, Middle, High, and Special Schools Except Overcrowded Classes
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Schools in the Busan area will begin full in-person classes starting November 2.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education has decided to implement full in-person classes for all kindergartens, elementary, middle, high, and special schools, except for oversized schools and overcrowded classes.
On the 22nd, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced that this decision was made reflecting the opinions from the school field, as social distancing measures were eased from level 2 to level 1 and COVID-19 showed signs of stabilization.
Accordingly, schools at all levels will conduct in-person classes starting from the 2nd of next month after necessary preparation periods for quarantine measures and school meals.
Schools that have completed preparations such as establishing quarantine measures and gathering opinions from the educational community are allowed to start full in-person classes even before that date.
For oversized schools with more than 1,000 students and overcrowded classes with more than 30 students per class, in-person classes will be conducted while maintaining two-thirds of the current density, and the remaining one-third will attend remote classes.
