Democratic Party's Lee Won-wook Criticizes 'Jin Joong-kwon Journalism'..."Reporting Articles as if They Were Facts"
[Asia Economy Reporter Nah Hana] Lee Won-wook, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the term 'Jin Joong-kwon Journalism' and said that we are now in an era of 'Jin Joong-kwon Journalism' where the essence of the media has become blurred.
On the 18th, Lee said on his Facebook, "The essence of journalism has disappeared."
He pointed out, "When Jin Joong-kwon's remarks appeared in response to writer Jo Jung-rae's issue on indigenous pro-Japanese collaborators, Jo Jung-rae's question disappeared," adding, "The media replaced the writer's 'words' with Jin Joong-kwon's 'writing' and reported it as if it were a fact."
He continued, "Regarding the misinterpretation that anyone who studied in Japan is pro-Japanese, Jin Joong-kwon did not apologize but instead blamed the 'writer' who made him read and write that way."
He also pointed out, "According to the keyword frequency analysis of related articles conducted by the Korea Press Foundation, 74% of the articles mentioned both writer Jo Jung-rae and Jin Joong-kwon together," adding, "If the writer Jo Jung-rae's remarks were problematic, the media should have analyzed and criticized them, but instead, they only published Jin's remarks without revealing the truth."
