US September Retail Sales Index Up 1.9% MoM... 5 Consecutive Months of Growth
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] US retail sales in September have continued to increase for five consecutive months compared to the previous month.
According to Bloomberg on the 16th, the US Department of Commerce announced that September retail sales increased by 1.9% compared to the previous month. This figure exceeds the Bloomberg expert consensus forecast of 0.8%.
The US retail sales index showed a decline in March and April when the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was spreading, but steadily increased from May through August. Although the growth rate slowed to 0.9% in August, it slightly recovered again in September.
