Jungnang-gu to Provide Up to 1 Million KRW Support for COVID-19 Unpaid Leave Workers
Apply by November 6 at Jungnang-gu Office 1st floor Civil Affairs and Passport Division and Employment Retention Support Fund reception... COVID-19 affected companies with fewer than 50 employees provide 500,000 KRW per unpaid leave worker monthly, up to 1 million KRW for 2 months
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) will provide employment retention support funds of up to 1 million KRW to unpaid leave workers affected by COVID-19.
The district announced that it will accept applications for employment retention support funds until November 6 to ensure the stable livelihood of unpaid leave workers.
The employment retention support fund provides 500,000 KRW per person per month, up to 1 million KRW for two months, to workers who were forced to take unpaid leave due to business suspension or restrictions.
The support targets residents employed in companies with fewer than 50 employees in the area who have taken unpaid leave for more than five days since July 1 and whose employment insurance is maintained. Support is available for up to 49 employees per company.
Employers or unpaid leave workers wishing to apply can visit the Employment Retention Support Fund reception desk on the first floor of Jungnang-gu Office or download the application form from the ‘District News’ section on the Jungnang-gu Office website, fill it out, and submit it via email (blue2094@jn.go.kr), mail (179 Bonghwasan-ro, Jungnang-gu Office), or fax by November 6.
If the number of applicants exceeds the support capacity, recipients will be selected based on priority.
The priority order is ▲workers of businesses under gathering bans ▲workers of businesses under gathering restrictions ▲workers of businesses under operational restrictions ▲workers of businesses in other industries, with longer employment insurance enrollment periods at the workplace being advantageous.
The district will review applicants for eligibility, selection criteria, and exclusions (non-profit organization workers, sole proprietors, industries excluded from small business policy fund loans, duplicate or fraudulent recipients) and plans to disburse the support funds from November 23 to 25.
