The workshop, held from the 14th to the 15th under the slogan ‘We are the Jeonnam-type High School Credit System Model School,’ was organized to share and reflect on the achievements and efforts of research and leading schools to expand various offered subjects.
The workshop proceeded with presentations on credit system-type space innovation practices and a roundtable discussion on next year’s credit system-type curriculum organization.
During the roundtable discussion, this year’s educational activities were placed on the table and evaluated by classifying them into four categories: ▲sustain ▲improve ▲delete ▲add.
Additionally, as a plan for next year’s curriculum organization, proposals included opening online and offline courses for general high school students to take vocational high school subjects, expanding courses linked with universities and local communities, and expanding joint school federation curricula.
Choi Dae-ok, a teacher at Haeryong High School, said, “Sharing the difficulties of practicing the credit system made me feel much lighter, and it was good to be able to think ahead about next year’s grade plan.”
Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education has increased the number of general high schools designated as research and leading schools for the high school credit system from 7 to 20 this year in preparation for the full introduction of the high school credit system in 2025, and plans to further expand to 45 schools next year.

Park Kyung-hee, Director of Secondary Education, emphasized, “The high school credit system is the democratization of the curriculum. Various subjects must be offered so that classes can be designed according to each student’s individual career path,” and added, “From now on, research and leading schools must show the way as model schools.”
