Hampyeong-gun Designates the 17th of Every Month as 'Hampyeong Hanwoo Eating Day'
Up to 11% Discount on Fresh Bibimbap Ingredients at the Ingredient Center
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hampyeong County in Jeonnam announced on the 15th that it will designate the 17th of every month as "Hampyeong Hanwoo Eating Day" and hold a Hampyeong Hanwoo discount event once a month through the Hampyeong Saeng (生) Bibimbap Ingredient Center.
The county made this decision to revitalize the market by attracting visitors as the existing 5-day market will be reopened from the 17th at Hampyeong Cheonji Traditional Market, which features modern stores.
The first discount event will be held on the 17th of this month, the official opening day of Hampyeong Cheonji Traditional Market, at the Hampyeong Saeng (生) Bibimbap Ingredient Center (next to the market).
Top-grade Hanwoo cattle raised in Hampyeong can be purchased at up to 11% discount depending on the cut.

A county official said, "If the 17th falls on a Sunday, the discount event will be rescheduled to one of the market days before or after (either the 12th or 22nd)," and added, "We hope for much interest and participation in Hampyeong Hanwoo Eating Day, where you can buy the finest Hampyeong Cheonji Hanwoo at a more affordable price."
