[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Han-hyuk] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 15th that it will conduct the 'Population and Housing Census' from the 15th of this month to the 18th of next month.
The Population and Housing Census, supervised by the Statistics Korea, is conducted every five years.
This is a very important statistical survey that collects data on population, households, and housing size and characteristics for all residents, both domestic and foreign, residing within the territory of the Republic of Korea, to be used as basic data for national or regional policy making.
The survey targets all domestic and foreign residents residing in the city as of 0:00 on the 1st of next month, as well as their places of residence.
Out of the 55 survey items, a sample survey will be conducted on 45 items, excluding 10 items replaced by administrative data.
The city will first conduct internet and telephone surveys from today until the 31st targeting 18,685 sample households.
For households that do not participate, surveyors will visit them directly from the 1st to the 18th of next month to conduct face-to-face interviews using tablet PCs.
Notably, from this time, the survey method has been expanded from the existing PC to mobile devices.
Accordingly, the sample households subject to response can conveniently participate in the survey anytime and anywhere by using the QR code on the pre-sent notification letter.
Surveyors will prioritize mutual safety with respondents by wearing masks and using hand sanitizers to prevent COVID-19 during the survey.
To ensure smooth survey progress, the city conducted surveyor training twice over two days on the 12th and 13th.
