KOTRA and KOICA Collaborate to Operate 'Understanding the New Southern Region' Training Course
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] KOTRA will operate the 'Understanding the New Southern Region' training course for two days starting from the 12th.
KOTRA explained, "This course was prepared together with KOICA to enhance the understanding of our small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies about the New Southern Policy and region, and to assist their local market entry."
The program covers strategies for entering the New Southern market and Official Development Assistance (ODA). It consists of ▲ Korea-ASEAN relations ▲ Current status of the New Southern economy, trade, and investment ▲ New Southern development cooperation projects ▲ Special lectures on business in India. Information on projects currently implemented by KOTRA and KOICA will also be provided.
Due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), government-led economic stimulus measures are being promoted in the New Southern region as well. In particular, ASEAN is Korea's second-largest trading partner region and the largest infrastructure contract destination. India is also attracting attention as a country with future potential not only in the domestic market but also in industrial infrastructure and science and technology.
KOTRA and KOICA are conducting various development cooperation projects based on the 'New Southern ODA Promotion Strategy' in line with the Korean government's New Southern Policy. The two organizations planned this course to help Korea and the New Southern region strengthen their partnership as future companions despite COVID-19.
