'Revitalization of Station Area' Gureung Station Vicinity: Residential Zone Type 3 → Neighborhood Commercial Zone
[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] The area around Gongneung Station on Seoul Subway Line 7 in Nowon-gu, Seoul, designated as a Category 3 General Residential Area, will be changed to a Neighborhood Commercial Area as part of the station area revitalization project.
Seoul City announced on the 8th that it approved the zoning change plan for the station area revitalization project at 375-4 Gongneung-dong, Nowon-gu, during the Urban Planning Committee meeting held on the 7th. As a result, the Category 3 General Residential Area in this area will be changed to a Neighborhood Commercial Area.
The target site is the station area of Gongneung Station. Seoul City plans to develop this area into a high-density, mixed-use 'Compact City' where workplaces and residences are close to each other. Along with 378 privately sold housing units, 72 public rental housing units, public offices, public rental commercial spaces, a Kiwoom Center, a community center, and sports facilities will be established to meet local needs.
This decision will be finalized and officially announced after review by the Urban and Architectural Joint Committee.
