[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Kyum-soo) will hold an online human rights special lecture at 2 p.m. on the 13th to promote awareness of human rights in the local community.
Criminal psychologist Professor Lee Soo-jung will conduct the lecture. The lecture will address recent sexual violence cases such as the Nth Room incident and discuss women's human rights issues oppressed by crime.
To prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the lecture will be held online. Anyone can watch it, and those who wish to participate can search for the YouTube channel "Gangbuk-gu, the City of History, Culture, and Tourism" to view it.
Additionally, for residents who find it difficult to watch in real time, the district plans to release the lecture video on the Gangbuk-gu YouTube channel for three days from the 19th to the 21st.
Mayor Park Kyum-soo of Gangbuk-gu said, "This special lecture was prepared to raise the sensitivity of social members to sexual human rights and to raise awareness of the seriousness of sexual violence problems occurring everywhere," adding, "We hope many residents will participate in this meaningful lecture to think about ways to respect human rights."
