View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker Shin Jeong-hoon held a Chuseok shopping event and listened to public sentiment to revitalize traditional markets that have been stagnant due to the prolonged COVID-19 crisis.
Starting on the 25th with Yeongsanpo Livestock Market and Yeongsanpo Pungmul Market, he visited Seji Dongchang Market on the 27th and Hwasun Goindol Market on the 28th to hear the difficulties faced by small business owners in traditional markets.
Lawmaker Shin and officials from the Democratic Party of Korea Naju-Hwasun Regional Committee toured various parts of the markets to encourage merchants and purchased ceremonial items using local gift certificates to help revitalize the traditional markets affected by COVID-19.
Shin said, “The region has been depressed due to COVID-19 and typhoon damage, causing many people to suffer. Based on the public sentiment heard on site, I will strive to prepare policies and budget support to revive traditional markets.”
