North Korea Demands Halt to Territorial Waters Infringement During Search for Missing Official
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] North Korea claimed that South Korea is violating North Korean territorial waters during the search for the public official who was shot by North Korean soldiers on Soyeonpyeongdo.
On the 27th, North Korea stated through the Korean Central News Agency, "We demand that the South immediately stop unauthorized incursions into the West Sea maritime military demarcation line that could provoke new tensions."
North Korea added, "We do not care about any search operations conducted in South Korean territorial waters," but emphasized, "Incursions into our territorial waters can never be overlooked."
Furthermore, it claimed, "We have organized searches across the entire southwestern sea and western coastline, and have even considered procedures and methods to hand over any bodies that may drift in on currents to the South according to customary practice."
