According to Daejeon City on the 26th, at around 4:10 a.m., Daejeon case number 346 (a woman in her 70s) passed away while undergoing treatment.
The confirmed patient was diagnosed with COVID-19 on the 15th after experiencing breathing difficulties and was admitted to Chungnam National University Hospital for treatment.
The patient had underlying conditions such as hypertension and diabetes before hospitalization, and reportedly died due to worsening pneumonia symptoms and complications during treatment.
It has been 11 days since she began inpatient treatment at the hospital after testing positive for COVID-19.
The source of infection for the deceased has not yet been identified.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s son in his 50s (Daejeon case number 375), who was classified as a close contact, was also confirmed positive for COVID-19 on the 23rd during self-quarantine and is currently receiving inpatient treatment at Chungnam National University Hospital.
