According to Haenam-gun on the 25th, the new government office building has completed the framework work up to the 6th floor, with only the final floor and rooftop floor remaining. The county council building has completed the framework work and dismantled the temporary scaffolding for exterior finishing work. The entire framework work is scheduled to be completed by early next month, with the current progress rate at 54%.
Inside, finishing walls and installations such as electrical, communication, and fire-fighting systems are proceeding as planned, making it likely that the building will be completed by June next year without any setbacks.
The new Haenam-gun government office building under construction has a total area of 18,601㎡, with the government office building being 7 floors and the county council building 5 floors. Parking lots accommodating a total of about 130 vehicles will be created both above and below ground.
In this regard, Myung Hyun-gwan, the mayor of Haenam-gun, visited the construction site on the 23rd to inspect the progress of the construction, safety management, and overall project promotion.
Mayor Myung said, “Although frequent rainfall and typhoons this year made planned schedule management difficult, the construction is progressing without setbacks and the framework work is nearing completion. I ask that you do your best to manage the site to minimize inconvenience to residents and prevent safety accidents until the project is completed, as well as ensure solid construction.”
The county omitted scheduled events such as the topping-out ceremony to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and replaced them with site inspections ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
Meanwhile, the Haenam-eupseong restoration and the creation of the Gunmin Plaza, which are being promoted simultaneously with the new government office building construction, are also gaining momentum.
