Yeongdeungpo-gu Distributes COVID-19 Prevention Kits to 60,000 Seniors
COVID-19 Prevention Kits Distributed to Over 60,000 Seniors Aged 65 and Above... Comprising 5 Masks Including KF94 and KF-AD... Delivered at Local Community Centers Until Early October
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chae Hyun-il) is distributing ‘COVID-19 Prevention Kits’ for the elderly in the area to protect their health and prevent COVID-19.
As the spread of COVID-19 continues and flu is expected to spread due to the large temperature differences during the changing seasons, the plan was quickly made to prevent infections among the vulnerable elderly and their families and to protect their health and safety.
As of August 31, the district will provide prevention kits free of charge to all approximately 60,000 elderly residents aged 65 and older in the area. The kit consists of 2 KF94 masks, 3 KF-AD masks, and a distribution notice.
The distribution notice expresses the district’s commitment to protecting the health of the elderly and gratitude for the cooperation of residents who have actively participated in social distancing measures.
It also reiterates quarantine rules such as wearing masks, washing hands, and ventilating indoor air, and includes a message of hope and encouragement that all 380,000 residents, including the elderly, will unite to overcome COVID-19.
The prevention kits will be delivered to recipients through local community centers starting September 25, and distribution will be completed by early October to make every effort to prevent infections caused by mask shortages.
The district has continuously distributed quarantine supplies consisting of hand sanitizers and masks not only to the elderly but also to vulnerable groups such as children and adolescents in the area and low-income households struggling to secure masks.
Additionally, local businesses, stores, organizations, and welfare centers have continued warm sharing and donations by delivering customized nutrition packages and various relief supplies to vulnerable groups such as children at risk of food insecurity, elderly living alone, and people with severe disabilities who are in blind spots of care.
