Seoul City, 2nd Phase of 'Special Childcare Support'... 200,000 Won Paid Per Person
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 23rd that it will implement the '2nd Special Childcare Support' to alleviate the burden of childcare caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). This project is led by the Ministry of Health and Welfare under the government's 4th supplementary budget.
Among them, the recipients paid by Seoul City at the local government level are preschool children receiving child allowances as of September, totaling 390,931 children. The city will invest 78.2 billion KRW of national funds to provide 200,000 KRW per child into their child allowance accounts.
The government's special childcare support targets also include elementary and middle school students as well as out-of-school children. The 'Special Childcare Support Fund' of 200,000 KRW for elementary students and the 'Non-face-to-face Learning Support Fund' of 150,000 KRW for middle school students will be paid by each jurisdictional education office to parents' school banking accounts, etc.
