Yeonggwang-gun to Conduct 'Special Origin Labeling Inspection' Until the 28th
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 23rd that it will conduct a 'special crackdown on violations of seafood origin labeling' in preparation for Chuseok until the 28th.
The main targets of the crackdown are seafood manufacturing, distribution, and sales companies, restaurants, and traditional markets, focusing on whether the origin labeling of dried yellow corvina, sea bream, shrimp, hairtail, etc., used for ancestral rites and gifts, has been falsified.
The county plans to impose strict administrative measures such as fines and prosecution according to relevant laws if violations are detected.
For minor issues, administrative guidance will be provided to ensure the establishment of the origin labeling system.
A county official said, "As non-face-to-face purchases have expanded this year, we will strengthen publicity and inspection of origin labeling to ensure safe food distribution during online sales through the computerized management system."
