Naju-si Holds 2021 New Policy Report Meeting
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yuk-bong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 22nd that it held the ‘2021 New Policy Report Meeting by National, Division, and Department’ chaired by Mayor Kang In-gyu at the city hall’s large conference room on the 21st.
At the meeting, a total of 103 new policy promotion plans and improvement measures discovered by 33 departments across 5 national and division offices were discussed.

Policies for building a dense social safety net included ▲‘Don’t Worry, My Friend! Safe Touch Smart Ring’ project ▲creation of a Yellow Garden for child safety around schools ▲improvement of safe return home environment for women ▲construction of a national river smart flood management system ▲production and distribution of silver driver marks.
Ahead of the 40th anniversary of the city’s promotion next year, projects such as the ‘Archives construction to record the life of Naju’, ‘40th anniversary city administration record exhibition’, and historical and cultural resource utilization projects like ‘Mahan historical site (royal palace site) excavation survey’ and ‘student movement historical and cultural street creation’ also drew attention.
The city plans to focus all efforts on securing national treasury funds linked to national public projects to expand finances, which have become difficult due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, after reviewing the feasibility, expected effects, and appropriateness of the required budget for the new policies.

Mayor Kang In-gyu said, “As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the city’s promotion next year, please do your best to ensure that projects planned for the energy capital of Korea, the central city of Honam, and the happiness of citizens proceed without any setbacks,” and added, “We will closely monitor the direction of national administration to proactively respond to the new order, economy, industry, and administration brought about by the COVID-19 great transition, and will establish an organic cooperation system with central government ministries.”
