Kwonikwi, Korean Air Songhyeon-dong Site Controversy... "Agreement to Be Reached Soon"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Ji-hwan] The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission announced on the 21st that it has agreed to resolve Korean Air's complaint requesting to block Seoul City's plan to convert Songhyeon-dong into a park through a 'mediation' involving Korean Air, Seoul City, and other related agencies.
The Commission stated, "Through several meetings, we have confirmed the positions of the parties involved and established the basic principles and direction for consultation, significantly narrowing the differences in views," adding, "We plan to reach an agreement soon."
Earlier, in June, Korean Air filed a grievance complaint with the Commission, requesting Seoul City to recommend halting administrative procedures, claiming damages from Seoul City's cultural park promotion affecting the sale of the Songhyeon-dong site. Due to Seoul City's 'parkification' policy, no buyers have come forward to purchase the land at a reasonable price, resulting in losses.
