Recognized for Contributions Including 6 Heart Saver Awards Over 10 Years and Transporting COVID-19 Confirmed Patients
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] The Daegu Fire Safety Headquarters announced on the 18th that Fire Captain Gu Gyo-geun of the Western Fire Station received the Life Protection Ambulance Award at the awards ceremony held at the Government Sejong Complex on the 16th.
Now in its second year, the Life Protection Ambulance Award is presented by the National Fire Agency to recognize paramedics who have contributed to protecting emergency patients' lives and advancing the emergency medical system. Recipients are honored with the National Fire Agency Commissioner’s Award and a special one-rank promotion.
Since taking his first step in firefighting in 2010, Captain Gu has saved countless citizens' lives at numerous emergency scenes, receiving six Heart Saver awards and one Brain Saver award over the past decade. He was also recognized for his contributions in transporting COVID-19 confirmed patients.
