Samsung SDI, Labor-Management Meeting... "Negotiations Begin in Earnest"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Samsung SDI labor and management held their first collective bargaining meeting on the 17th and began negotiations.
On the same day in the afternoon, the labor and management held the 1st collective bargaining and introductory meeting at Tongdo Art Center in Yangsan City, near the Ulsan plant.
At the meeting, both sides discussed the principles and procedures for future collective bargaining. Along with this, the labor union presented a collective agreement proposal concerning labor conditions such as guaranteeing union activities, members' wages, personnel, and welfare.
The Ulsan plant is the only location where a labor union has been established and negotiations with management have begun. The Samsung SDI Ulsan plant labor union was established in April, with about 50 members reportedly enrolled.
