KOLMAR Korea "10 Vegan-Certified Color Cosmetics"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Kolmar Korea announced on the 17th that it has additionally obtained vegan certification for 10 types of color cosmetics.
Kolmar Korea previously received vegan certification for 10 basic cosmetic items last year. The newly certified items include a total of 10 products such as cushions, sunscreens, compacts, and mascaras. The certification was obtained from EVE, a prestigious vegan certification organization in France. The process involved strict standards that exclude animal testing during manufacturing and prohibit the use of animal-derived ingredients from raw materials to packaging.
The company explained that this certification is significant as it was achieved in a market where most vegan cosmetics are concentrated in basic skincare products.
In the case of color cosmetics, it has been relatively rare to receive vegan certification compared to basic cosmetics because it is difficult to find vegan ingredients that can replace animal-derived ingredients which enhance texture and expression. Based on accumulated big data and technological capabilities, Kolmar Korea succeeded in obtaining vegan certification by developing color cosmetics that completely exclude animal-derived ingredients while enabling natural skin expression.
Kolmar Korea plans to introduce customized products tailored to client needs and trends based on the 10 vegan-certified color cosmetics. In particular, the company intends to actively respond to the rapidly growing global vegan cosmetics market as well as the domestic market.
A Kolmar Korea official said, "In line with the global vegan trend, we are acquiring various vegan certifications across a wide range of products from makeup to basic skincare." He added, "We will lead the vegan cosmetics trend not only in the domestic market, which is recently forming, but also in the global market."
Vegan certification means that no animal-derived ingredients are used in the product’s raw materials or packaging, and no animal testing is conducted during the manufacturing process. Recently, as eco-friendliness and ethical consumption have emerged as global consumer trends, the vegan cosmetics market is also rapidly growing.
