"Shall We Listen to Lim Young-woong's Songs?" SKT Launches Senior Phone Featuring 'Mr. Trot' Music Tracks
[Asia Economy Reporter Joeslgina] SK Telecom announced that it will exclusively release the senior-only mobile phone equipped with Mister Trot music, the ‘Galaxy A21s VIVA Trot edition,’ starting on the 18th.
The ‘A21s VIVA Trot,’ featuring a 6.5-inch HD+ grade display that is easy to view for middle-aged and older adults and a 48-megapixel quad camera, emphasizes cost-effectiveness with a retail price of 319,000 KRW.
It enhances readability by enlarging the font size on the screen and places frequently used applications on the home screen. Additionally, it improves usability by organizing key functions into a separate page called the ‘VIVA Menu.’ By selecting the ‘VIVA Menu’ icon or dragging the yellow bar on the right side of the home screen to the left, middle-aged and older customers can conveniently access preferred content and services such as FLO, Wave, MeetUs, Tmap public transportation, and radio apps.
It is especially optimized for middle-aged and older customers who enjoy and are interested in trot music. Through collaboration with FLO, it includes 50 songs featured on Mister Trot. Representative tracks include ‘Baram’ sung by Lim Young-woong, the winner of Mister Trot, during the preliminaries, Jeong Dong-won’s ‘Borikkogae,’ Kim Ho-joong’s ‘Taekleul Geoljima,’ and Lee Chan-won’s ‘Jinttobaegi.’ Users can listen to music anytime and anywhere for free via the FLO widget on the home screen without separate login or data deduction.
SK Telecom provides all customers who purchase the ‘A21s VIVA Trot’ with a ‘leather diary case’ that can hold cards preferred by middle-aged and older adults as a package with the device. Customers purchasing through the T Direct Shop can choose one gift from the Chuseok T Gift sets, including Jeonggwanjang Red Ginseng Vitality, Playgo Massage Gun, and Spam gift sets.
Currently, SK Telecom offers the ‘Baro Dochak Haengbok Delivery’ service, where professional consultants called T Managers visit the desired location directly to provide safer consultation and activation services in the contactless era. It is expected that elderly customers unfamiliar with data transfer will also be able to conveniently use the activation service.
