Prosecutors Indict Two SBS Publicly Recruited Comedians on Charges of Operating Illegal Gambling Establishment
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] Kim, a man in his 30s and a former SBS public recruitment comedian, has been brought to trial on charges of operating an illegal gambling den.
The Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office indicted Kim and his fellow comedian Choi on the 1st of this month on charges including establishing a gambling den.
They are accused of opening an illegal gambling den in an officetel in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, in 2018, organizing gambling activities, and collecting commissions. Kim is also charged with directly participating in the gambling.
The Gangseo Police Station in Seoul referred Kim and Choi to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment in May, and the prosecution brought the two to trial on the 1st of this month.

Their first trial is scheduled to be held on the 21st of next month at the Seoul Southern District Court.
