Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Hold 'Mikta Expert Dialogue' on the 18th
Post-COVID-19 International Political Outlook and the Role of MIKTA
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 16th that it will hold the "MIKTA Expert Dialogue" on the 18th via online live streaming under the theme "Post-COVID-19 International Situation Outlook and the Role of MIKTA."
With Korea serving as the chair country of MIKTA this year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to revitalize academic exchanges among MIKTA member countries, which had been suspended since 2017, through this seminar.
This video conference, held in collaboration with the Korean Association of International Politics, will invite domestic and international experts to discuss the importance of MIKTA in the post-COVID-19 international order and explore cooperation measures to strengthen multilateralism and global health security. It will consist of two sessions.
The event will feature an opening address by Lee Tae-ho, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, a welcome speech by Lee Sang-hwan, President of the Korean Association of International Politics, followed by presentations and discussions by experts representing the five MIKTA countries.

Through this video conference, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to activate exchanges and cooperation among MIKTA experts and strengthen the diplomatic foundation of middle powers through MIKTA in the post-COVID-19 era.
