SKT-Innovation Academy, Nurturing Software Talent with InitialDID
[Asia Economy Reporter Seolgina Cho] SK Telecom announced on the 16th that it will nurture software talent and revitalize the developer ecosystem by utilizing the government-established innovation education institution Innovation Academy and the DID service ‘Initial’.
On the same day, SK Telecom and Innovation Academy signed a business agreement to utilize the blockchain-based mobile electronic certification service Initial in Innovation Academy’s education and agreed to mutually cooperate to expand the base of DID (Decentralized Identifier) technology.
Initial is a mobile electronic certification service that uses blockchain and DID technology to issue and store various certificates directly on the user’s device in a one-stop manner, and submit them to receiving institutions when necessary to verify forgery and authenticity.
Through this cooperation, the two parties plan to discover various DID-based ideas necessary for real life and provide opportunities for developers to enhance their understanding of the convenience, security, and scalability of blockchain technology.
Innovation Academy is an innovative educational institution supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and Seoul Metropolitan Government, operating ’42 Seoul,’ a software talent training course required in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
In September, SK Telecom plans to present a task to trainees to discover business models based on ‘Initial’ as part of the ’42 Seoul’ corporate joint project, and will continue to support trainees to plan various services as well as conduct practical code development exercises.
Lee Min-seok, head of Innovation Academy, said, “Through this collaboration, we expect trainees to enhance their understanding of DID technology, which will greatly change our future lives, and to discover many innovative ideas through self-directed learning based on sharing and collaboration.”
