'When the Buckwheat Flowers Bloom' Andong City Scenery ... Hwangholgyeong at Nakdong Riverside, Gye-pyeong-ri, Pungsan-eup
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Buckwheat flowers are in full bloom under the Seoandong Bridge along the Nakdong River embankment in Gye-pyeong-ri, Pungsan-eup, Andong-si, Gyeongbuk.
According to Andong City on the 15th, the "Pyeongpyeong Buckwheat Flower Field," named after the approximately 10,000-pyeong (about 3 hectares) area in Gye-pyeong-ri, was planted with 300 kg of buckwheat seeds in early August, which have grown vigorously and recently created a beautiful landscape.
Andong City explained that the flowers are expected to reach full bloom throughout this week. Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), Andong City plans to provide emotional stability to citizens by capturing the vast beauty and abundance of the buckwheat flower field in a YouTube video.
An official from Andong City said, "We hope that the Pyeongpyeong Buckwheat Flower Field will become a healing resting place to soothe the hearts of citizens who are tired and depressed due to the recent typhoons and the spread of COVID-19."
