Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education Develops and Distributes Subject-Specific 'Remote Learning Content' for Elementary Schools
Distribution through Daegu e-Learning Center 'Daegu Online Class'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 15th that it will develop content to enhance the quality of remote classes in line with the implementation of real-time interactive video classes in the second semester and distribute it to educational sites.
The remote class content, produced independently by the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education, focuses on the core concepts and main principles of five national curriculum subjects (Korean, Ethics, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science) for elementary school grades 3 to 6. According to the Office of Education, it was created based on the expertise of elementary education specialists.
This remote class content, produced to address difficulties in securing class content and the qualitative decline of content during the remote class period that began with online school openings, is provided step-by-step according to the lesson content, such as introduction, development, and summary within one class session.
The content is designed so that teachers using it can merge class videos made by education experts with their own teaching materials or videos to create their own unique class content, allowing for customized videos tailored to the circumstances of each class and school.
Senior teachers and lesson research teachers, who represent each subject, directly participated from planning to production in creating the remote class content. This content is distributed through Daegu e-Learning Center's 'Daegu Online Class'.
In addition, to support remote classes, the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education has uploaded teaching materials from each publisher for physical education, music, art, and practical arts subjects on the e-Learning Center's 'Daegu Online Class' platform, and provides guidance on using digital textbooks for English textbooks. Furthermore, a 'Learning Package' to support integrated curriculum classes for grades 1 and 2 and 'Thinking Play Math' for grades 2 to 6 have been developed and are scheduled for distribution in September.
