Hampyeong-gun Declares COVID-19 'Special Quarantine Period' Until the 4th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 14th that it has designated the three weeks until October 4th as a special quarantine period to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by holding a comprehensive quarantine countermeasure meeting for the Chuseok holiday.
Seeing this Chuseok holiday as a turning point for the nationwide spread of COVID-19, the government announced a special quarantine period (September 28 to October 12), and detailed quarantine measures tailored to local conditions were prepared accordingly.
During this holiday period, the county will implement special quarantine measures across eight areas, including the continuous operation of the emergency quarantine task force, operation of temporary living facilities for overseas entrants, and guidance and inspection of hygiene establishments (restaurants, cafes, etc.).
Emergency quarantine for cultural and tourism facilities will be conducted to establish a readiness system for tourists, along with emergency quarantine for social welfare facilities and memorial facilities, and a dedicated public official system for welfare facilities for the disabled.
In particular, along with these quarantine measures, the county plans to vigorously promote the ‘Pause for Chuseok’ campaign targeting residents and those who have moved away from the area.
Through village broadcasts, notification texts, and SNS, the four major rules will be actively promoted: ▲refraining from traveling to and from hometowns ▲refraining from visiting ancestral graves ▲minimizing the number of people performing grave clearing and using grave clearing proxy services ▲checking on family members via video calls, thereby creating a quarantine atmosphere during the holiday.
