Iran Surpasses 400,000 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] The Iranian Ministry of Health reported on the 13th (local time) that the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) increased by 289 from the previous day, reaching 402,029. Iran became the 12th country in the world to surpass 400,000 cumulative COVID-19 cases.
Iran's daily new confirmed cases had remained in the 2,000 range for the past three months without significant changes. However, in the past week, the average daily confirmed cases were 2,197.
After surpassing 300,000 cumulative cases on July 30, it took 45 days for the number to increase by another 100,000. It took 41 days for the cumulative cases to rise from 200,000 to 300,000.
