Daejeon Special Judicial Police Crack Down on Childcare Center Suppliers of Substandard Food Ingredients
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Daejeon Special Judicial Police recently conducted a planned investigation and announced on the 13th that they had caught seven companies violating the Food Sanitation Act and the Livestock Products Sanitation Control Act.
The main violations of the companies caught were ▲violation of standards and specifications (3 cases) ▲expired distribution period and livestock product storage (1 case) ▲storage of unlabeled products (3 cases) ▲false advertising (1 case), etc.
Company A violated storage and distribution standards by mixing frozen products (below -18℃) and refrigerated products (0~10℃) in packaging for transportation and sale.
Also, Company B was caught trying to sell 309 kg of livestock products that were 105 days past the expiration date. Company C was caught for false advertising on its website by claiming to have added 33 types of herbal medicines that were not actually used while producing products supplied to its franchise stores.
The city’s special judicial police seized a total of 925 kg of livestock products from these companies and plan to proceed with both criminal punishment and administrative measures.
