[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hyundai Motor Company will launch related training to strengthen its competitiveness in eco-friendly vehicle technology.

On the 13th, Hyundai announced that it will conduct the ‘H-Mobility Class’ for science and engineering university (graduate) students to nurture specialized personnel in advance and secure them in a timely manner in preparation for the electrification era.

This training was developed through collaboration between Hyundai Motor, Hyundai NGV, the Ministry of Education, and the National Institute for Lifelong Education, and online lectures will be provided free of charge to 500 selected science and engineering university (graduate) students who applied from July to August.

Through the ‘H-Mobility Class,’ Hyundai will deliver various knowledge about eco-friendly vehicles, including ▲Introduction to New Energy Vehicles ▲Understanding Fuel Cell Systems for Hydrogen Vehicles ▲Understanding Electric Vehicles ▲Understanding Battery Systems for Electric Vehicles ▲Basics/Understanding of Electrification Power Electronics Systems ▲Understanding Electrified Drive Motors ▲Understanding Permanent Magnet Drive Motors.

Hyundai will award a ‘Job Competency Certificate’ in the name of Hyundai Motor, Hyundai NGV, and the National Institute for Lifelong Education to students who complete the ‘H-Mobility Class,’ and will provide an opportunity for advanced education to 210 outstanding students.

Additionally, among the advanced education students, selected outstanding university (graduate) students will be exempted from document screening when applying for related job fields at Hyundai Motor’s R&D headquarters in the future.

A Hyundai Motor official said, “While the social demand for specialized knowledge and technology development in the rapidly growing eco-friendly vehicle sector is increasing, systematic education is lacking. The ‘H-Mobility Class’ will enhance understanding and interest in the related industry and strengthen the competitiveness of the automotive industry.” He added, “Securing R&D talent with job competencies is important for corporate competitiveness, and we hope this training will provide an opportunity for more talents to be active in the eco-friendly vehicle R&D field.”

He also stated, “Although the management environment is difficult due to COVID-19, Hyundai Motor will continue to actively nurture talent and establish various recruitment systems to provide more opportunities to students.”

Meanwhile, Hyundai plans to recruit students for the second session around January next year following the first session of the ‘H-Mobility Class.’
