View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Cluster outbreaks of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) continue to occur mainly in large hospitals and religious facilities. Two more deaths were reported on the day, bringing the total to 357.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced on the 12th at 12 noon that 4 new confirmed cases related to Severance Hospital in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, were added, bringing the total to 23. Outside Severance Hospital, confirmed cases are increasing mainly in places where existing cluster infections have occurred in the metropolitan area.
At the Illyeonjeongjong Seoul Propagation Center in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, one additional infection was confirmed, bringing the total confirmed cases to 23. In the case of the Coupang Logistics Center in Songpa-gu, 3 more cases were confirmed related to the goshiwon (small lodging) where workers reside, bringing the total positive cases to 19 so far.
Regarding the daytime care center in Icheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, 4 more cases were added, increasing the total confirmed cases to 18. One more confirmed case related to the downtown Seoul rally on the 15th of last month was added, bringing the total to 565.
Regarding the K Health Industry in Gangnam-gu, since the first patient was identified on the 8th, 9 additional cases were confirmed through contact tracing, bringing the total positive cases to 10.
Cluster infections are also continuing in non-metropolitan areas. During contact tracing related to the health food briefing session in Daejeon, 3 more cases were confirmed, increasing the total confirmed cases to 54. In the case of the Seomgim Nursing Home in Geumsan-gun, Chungnam Province, one more case was added, bringing the total confirmed cases to 10.
The total confirmed cases related to the wild ginseng business briefing session in Chilgok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, reached 8.
Meanwhile, with 2 additional deaths on the day, the cumulative death toll rose to 357. Currently, there are a total of 164 critically ill patients. By age group, there are 38 (23.2%) aged 80 and above, 67 (40.9%) in their 70s, 39 (23.8%) in their 60s, 14 (8.5%) in their 50s, 5 (3%) in their 40s, and 1 (0.6%) in their 30s.
