"Accelerating Hydrogen Refueling Station Construction"…First Meeting Held with Public-Private Council Formation
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The government has formed the 'Hydrogen Charging Station Policy Council' to expedite the establishment of hydrogen charging stations and held its first meeting on the 10th at the National Water Management Committee meeting room in Sejong City.
The Hydrogen Charging Station Council is chaired by the Air Environment Policy Officer of the Ministry of Environment and consists of about 30 members, including central government ministries (Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of National Defense), hydrogen charging station-related operators (local governments and private sector), and expert advisory groups.
Council members will identify and resolve difficulties arising during the hydrogen charging station construction projects to promote the projects at a rapid pace, and discuss improvements in construction and operation. Meetings will be held quarterly as a regular principle, but urgent issues will be accepted at any time and meetings will be convened as needed.
The first meeting was held in a small-scale format with participation from the government, some local governments, and private operators instead of a full meeting, considering the COVID-19 situation.
The current status of hydrogen charging station construction was reviewed to identify problems and seek solutions, and suggestions from local governments and private operators were examined.
