[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) is operating the ‘2021 Academic Year Early Admission Counseling Center’ to help test-takers establish customized college admission strategies.
The counseling center will be open from September 8 to 23, weekdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Experienced former and current teachers proficient in admission information, along with local education experts and Edu Education Counselors, will participate to provide one-on-one counseling for test-takers. They will offer tailored information on early admission strategies, eligible universities and major selection, and how to write self-introduction letters.
This counseling will be conducted both in-person and remotely to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and comply with social distancing guidelines.
In-person counseling will take place at the Self-Directed Learning Support Center (395 Gucheonmyeon-ro, Gangdong-gu), on the 3rd floor in the permanent counseling room. For the safety and health of participants, transparent partitions will be installed between counselors and test-takers, appropriate distancing will be maintained, masks must be worn, and temperature checks will be conducted to strictly follow COVID-19 prevention measures.
Remote counseling will be conducted using the Gangdong real-time remote learning platform. Test-takers and counselors will connect to the platform for real-time communication, utilizing various features such as subtitles and resource sharing to achieve effects similar to in-person counseling.
Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “Although it is a difficult situation to prepare for college admissions due to COVID-19, we will do our utmost to prepare practical support measures so that test-takers and parents can enter the universities they desire.”
