33% Resident Absence Rate on First Day Back to Clinic... 40%p Decrease Compared to Previous Day

The Ministry of Health and Welfare reported that, after checking the work status of 140 out of 200 resident training institutions, 3,158 out of 9,653 residents (32.7%) were absent. The previous day's resident absence rate was 72.8%, showing a decrease of over 40 percentage points.
Among fellows who also participated in the strike, 34 out of 2,536 were absent, resulting in an absence rate of 1.3%. The previous day's fellow absence rate was 19.2%.

Earlier, residents and fellows had continued their collective strike since the 21st of last month in protest against government medical policies such as expanding medical school quotas and establishing public medical schools, but decided to temporarily suspend collective action starting from 7 a.m. on this day.
