Governor Kim Young-rok said at the policy meeting with department heads held in the Seo Jae-pil Room on the same day, "The COVID-19 situation made us realize the necessity of public healthcare and medical schools," and encouraged, "Let's all unite?members of the National Assembly, residents, and public officials?to ensure that a national medical school is established in Jeonnam through the upcoming discussion council."
He continued, "Despite the difficulties of COVID-19, the residents have made many unseen efforts to protect the honor of Jeonnam as a clean region," and urged, "Please use this experience to thoroughly investigate and reflect on the causes of COVID-19 outbreaks and prepare improvement measures so that Jeonnam can firmly establish itself as a clean region."
He also mentioned, "Residents have gone through difficult times due to recent consecutive heavy rains, typhoons, and the spread of COVID-19," adding, "Fortunately, the damage was not severe, so it feels like we have entered the harbor after braving rough seas," sharing the hardships of flood victims and expressing gratitude to the residents who wisely overcame the damage.

Regarding next year's national treasury allocation, Governor Kim said, "There are many things we need to do for our future vision," and added, "Although a significant budget was secured in the government budget proposal from the perspective of future strategic industries, Jeonnam still has a long way to go. Please strive to secure an additional 500 billion won during the National Assembly's budget review process."
