[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The "Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Restroom Management Ordinance," proposed by Jang Jae-seong, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan Council (Democratic Party, Seo-gu 1), passed the relevant standing committee, the Education and Culture Committee, on the 7th.
Assemblyman Jang stated, "This ordinance was proposed to improve restroom facilities and hygienic management at each school and educational administrative institution, and to prevent illegal filming, so that students and faculty can use restrooms comfortably and safely."
The main contents of this ordinance include establishing a permanent inspection system to check for the installation of illegal filming devices, regular inspections and disinfection to maintain restroom hygiene, provision of convenience items (such as water-soluble toilet paper, liquid soap, water heaters, bidets, etc.) for user convenience, and installation and consignment management of pictures, photos, and plants to create a pleasant restroom environment.
Assemblyman Jang said, "With the enactment of this ordinance, I hope that thorough hygiene management of restrooms at each school and educational administrative institution will ensure that multi-use facilities used by students, faculty, and citizens are managed as safe and pleasant spaces."
