Diageo Korea Appoints Dan Hamilton as New CEO and President
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Diageo Korea announced on the 4th that Dan Hamilton, former President of Diageo Northern Europe, has been appointed as the new CEO of Diageo Korea.
Born in Australia, CEO Dan Hamilton joined Diageo in 2011 and is an expert in the alcoholic beverage market, having managed various organizations across India, China, Japan, and Europe. In Japan, he served as CEO from 2016 to 2019, successfully promoting Scotch whisky and Guinness beer while strategically restructuring Diageo's business. In China, he led business transformation, driving significant growth in Baijiu, Scotch whisky, and Guinness beer. Most recently, from 2019 to 2020, he served as CEO of Diageo Northern Europe, actively reflecting new consumer trends and leading strong growth.
Sam Fisher, Chairman of Diageo Asia Pacific, expressed gratitude for the efforts of outgoing CEO Lee Kyung-woo, who has led the Korean market with dedication, and stated that the growth and changes Lee Kyung-woo has created will continue to support successful business in the Korean market. Lee Kyung-woo, who has led Diageo Korea since February 2018, will retire at the end of October.
