[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seul-gi] After a collective medical strike lasting half a month, on the 4th, the Korean Medical Association (KMA) president Choi Dae-jip and the KMA executive team reached an agreement with the government and ended the strike. Meanwhile, independent lawmaker Hong Joon-pyo praised President Choi, saying he "stopped the reckless actions of the Moon Jae-in administration."
On that day, Hong posted on his Facebook, "Their determination and courage to unite the hesitant medical community and boldly confront the tyranny and recklessness of the Moon Jae-in regime were truly remarkable," he said.
He added, "What shone in this medical crisis was the leadership of President Choi and the KMA leadership," and "It is truly impressive that they blocked the regime's recklessness solely through internal unity without aligning with opposition parties that only watch public opinion."
He continued, "Instilling the conviction that unity leads to victory is also a great achievement. To all the KMA leadership, thank you for your hard work," and "Now, I hope everyone returns to their primary duties and devotes themselves fully to eradicating the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19)."
