Chairman Shin Chang-jae of Kyobo Life Insurance Appointed as Chairman of the Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Organizing Committee
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Kyobo Life Insurance announced on the 4th that Shin Chang-jae, Chairman of Kyobo Life Insurance, has been appointed as the organizing committee chairman for the '2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games.'
Chairman Shin was appointed as the organizing committee chairman at the '2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympic Games Founding General Assembly' held at the Seoul Press Center on the 3rd. He will serve as the organizing committee chairman until 2024.
Chairman Shin has consistently supported youth culture and sports activities for over 20 years as CEO of Kyobo Life Insurance and chairman of the Daesan Cultural Foundation. He has practiced the philosophy of nurturing young people, the future leaders, into global citizens with healthy physical strength and wisdom for coexistence.
A representative example is the Kyobo Life Insurance Cup Dream Tree Sports Competition, which has been established as the only nationwide comprehensive youth sports competition in the private sector for the past 35 years. The Dream Tree Sports Competition includes events such as figure skating and short track, contributing to the expansion of ice sports. Athletes who participated in the Dream Tree Sports Competition also competed in the recent Youth Olympics and achieved excellent results.
Additionally, Chairman Shin has carried out various development projects to discover the potential and value of youth through the Daesan Cultural Foundation and Kyobo Education Foundation.
As the organizing committee chairman, Shin aims to create a rich event not only in sports but also in cultural arts so that youth can develop 'Global Citizenship' through the Olympics.
