3 Flights Total: 1 on the 3rd, 2 on the 4th... Over 600 Hyundai Motor Group Employees and Families Use Service
Chinese Government Allows 500 People Daily Entry to Beijing
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Jo Young-shin] A charter flight carrying Hyundai Motor Group executives, employees, their families, and partner company employees is arriving in Beijing, the capital of China.
According to related industries on the 3rd, an Air China (CA) charter flight carrying Hyundai Motor executives, employees, their families, and partner company executives departed from Incheon International Airport in the morning and is scheduled to arrive at Beijing Capital International Airport in China.
Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the air route to Beijing had been closed. To come to Beijing, one had to pass through cities near Beijing.
The Chinese government judged that COVID-19 is under control and decided to allow entry into Beijing for up to 500 people per day. In effect, the previously closed air route to Beijing has reopened.
The Chinese government had required all international flights to Beijing to be diverted to nearby cities since March 23.
Hyundai Motor plans to operate a total of three charter flights: one on the 3rd and two on the 4th, with about 600 people expected to use the charter flights.
Hyundai Motor executives, employees, their families, and partner company employees must undergo airport quarantine procedures and then quarantine for two weeks at hotels designated by the Chinese government.
A representative from Beijing Hyundai Motor said, "We operated the charter flight for the launch of new cars such as the Avante (China model) in the second half of the year," adding, "Since we are coming directly to Beijing instead of other cities, the inconvenience has somewhat decreased."
