Members of the Incheon International Airport Corporation labor union participated in a public signature campaign demanding fair regular employment conversion on the afternoon of July 7 at Hongdaeipgu Station.
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] The National Human Rights Commission of Korea has dismissed a complaint filed by a civic group alleging that Incheon International Airport Corporation discriminates against irregular workers who are directly employed by the corporation compared to existing regular employees and job seekers.
On the 2nd, the Judicial Examination Preparation Group (Sajunmo) announced, "The complaint submitted regarding the airport corporation's employment discrimination was dismissed on the 1st."
The Human Rights Commission judged that the victims and the facts of the damage were not specified, so it was not subject to investigation. The commission stated, "No specific victims of discrimination between existing regular employees and those subject to regular employment conversion were identified, and the facts of the damage could not be specified." It added, "Job seekers are an unspecified group, and it is difficult to consider that specific damage has occurred," thus not recognizing discrimination between those subject to regular employment conversion and job seekers.
Regarding the claim that there is discrimination based on the hiring date between those who joined before May 12, 2017, and those who joined after among the regular employment conversion candidates, the commission explained, "This does not constitute grounds for discrimination and is not subject to investigation."
