Kim Tae-nyeon: "We Will Expedite the Formation of a Special Committee to Discuss with the Medical Community in the National Assembly"
Criticism Toward Jeon Gwang-hoon as a "Clear Violation of Bail Conditions"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jin-young] Kim Tae-nyeon, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, announced on the 2nd that he will expedite the formation of a special committee at the National Assembly as a solution to the medical community's collective strike (work stoppage).
At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, Floor Leader Kim stated, "We will quickly discuss with the opposition party and expedite the formation of a special committee at the National Assembly, which is a consultative body for expanding public healthcare."
He added, "The special committee will listen to and discuss various improvement measures requested by the medical community and work together to create good policies for medical development," emphasizing, "Han Jeong-ae, the Democratic Party's Policy Committee Chair, is currently meeting sincerely with the Korea Medical Association (KMA) and representatives of resident doctors to discuss these matters."
Regarding the possible revocation of bail for Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon of Sarang Jeil Church, he criticized it as a "clear violation of bail conditions." Floor Leader Kim stated, "Pastor Jeon's bail conditions prohibited participation in any illegal gatherings or demonstrations, but he already attended the August 15 rally and even gave a speech," and strongly urged, "We strongly call for the cancellation of Pastor Jeon's bail and strict punishment for acts that hinder quarantine efforts."
